2023-24 Scallop Season Recap
Another scallop season has come to a close! This year our fleet harvested 8,709 bushels of bay scallops. While it was a mild season and scallops were plentiful, the yield was lower than recent years, meaning the scallop meats were on the small side. We saw increased interest with apprentices joining the fleet to learn the trade however market demand and prices waned with the season. Overall it was a balanced, full season.
